The Manse Barn
The Manse Barn is the climbing hut of the Lomond Mountaineering Club. It is located in Onich, midway between Glencoe and Fort William, giving easy access to the nearby mountains - Ben Nevis, Glencoe and much more of the best in the country.

The kitchen/diner is equipped with a large table and chairs, pans, cutlery, crockery, an electric hob, oven and grill, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge. Please bring your own dish towels and toilet paper. Heating is provided by electric heaters. Stairs lead to the bedroom which sleeps ten on two large padded bunk benches. Sleeping bags are required. The toilet is also upstairs as is the electricity meter. The meter is set at the standard (Scottish Hydro) rate and accepts £1 coins. There is ample parking around the back of the hut in an annexe to the hotel car park.
Next door is The Onich Hotel. It has a fully licensed bar and good food is served all day; we encourage visitors and members to use the hotel bar. Please let the bar staff know that you are resident at the Manse Barn!
In order to ensure sufficient funds for continued maintenance of the hut it has been decided at the December 2007 AGM to charge members for the use of the hut - to club members at £2 and guests at £4 per person per night. You should pay via an Honesty Box in the bedroom or pay by cheque to the hut custodian. Cheques should be made payable to Lomond Mountaineering Club. Please contact the hut custodian prior to use, to check availability and the door code.
The hut is made available to visiting clubs one weekend per month completely, and a further weekend for up to 6 places. Click here for availability.
Keys for the hut can be borrowed from the hut custodian or for a £20 deposit can be kept out. Other clubs should send a SAE with the deposit for the keys (or an email to the custodian, better this way. Anything can be possible, even at short notice...?). To contact the hut custodian, Jules Hearne for bookings or whatever e-mail thecommittee@lomondmc.com or alternatively phone: 07717378387
