Misty Mountain top - Torridon

well, I have found Torridon to be an extraordinary/fantastic/marvellous/incredible/smashing place. Lucky for you I can't find the words and I should stop with the nonsense I write in the trip reports:p, yes, yes I know.

you've just missed some great days out in Torridon:D

but the best were the people I've met along the way...mister John (that looked like father christmas:), who made a place for me in his dusty and greasy car, who draw me a picture of their life up there, and cared to treat me with tea and scones at Jo's new cofee shop, introduced me to the doctors (although very nice people I wished not to see/need them for the next few days)...seeing me travel...mister John said time passed soooooo fast, it ran almost, and he did not get the chance to do/go places when he was young...

and up towards Beinn Eighe, while I was hoping/waiting by Loch Coire Mhic Fhearchair for the mist to scram, two instructors teaching a group basic orienteering said that I could come along..well why not, is not much fun walking in the mist alone, but then started to feel uncomfortable knowing the people might have actually paid for the course..and voila I come along as well:p..but the guys calmed me saying that they are actually recruits, the almost next in line to go to Afganistan, oh..not the usual hillwalkers. I remained behind, as I've came for the views and photos, and did not want to get in somebody's way...but I could feel that the instructors took me under their wing, checking from time to time if I was ok, looking back or waiting for me to catch up. While they were making their way down the last munro, I couldn't help thinking ..what a waste of good men war is...some where even younger than me.
again my curiosity..took me to the Black Carls, as I had all day for myself...that must have been the best part of the ridge walk.

Liathach - next day...was excellent. Although the first half, up until Spidean a'Choire Leith, we were up in the clouds, from time to time the fog would hurry over the ridge, and the sun would come out...while all the people on the ridge would do stadium 'waves'..no they did not, but they might have...as the show the weather put on that morning was magnificent.
I was terrified while reading about the walks in Torridon, but it wasn't really so. The Pinnacles were great..I did traverse them, not as elegant as Harry might, but I'm working my way towards it:)

Saturday it was just me and Beinn Alligin, in a perfect sunny morning (very early morning..as I wanted to return the same day to Glasgow). I wouldn't say Beinn Alligin was less interesting, or easier than the rest, on the contrary. From there I could spy with my little eye Skye and the Outer Hebrides...

The people were great, the place was even more so. I heard that things are even more interesting further you go up north; it will be a bit of a big surprise that I cannot wait to discover.
