Garbh Beinn
Submitted by richard on Sun, 08/22/2010 - 19:36I wanted a mountain route on Saturday and optimistically headed for Glencoe with Pauline R. It was soaking and clagged out, so we resigned ourselves to the trekk round the Polldubh. Then we noticed that Garbh Beinn out west was bright, so we steeled ourselves for th £12 ferry fares and shot across. It was late and threatening rain when we got to the top of the coire, but we got in a 100m v diff on Bealach Buttress, excellent wild route finding on the first pitch then a steep, exposed knife edge for the second. A long way for not that much maybe, but excellent, and top views too.

The Cobbler
Submitted by richard on Sun, 08/15/2010 - 14:58Myself, Simeon and Pauline headed off to Arrochar on Saturday, meeting Euan the Fish at the car park by the Cobbler. Sim set off for a blistering walk up Ben Vane and Ben Vorlich and back, and the rest of us sweated and heaved with loads of gear and two full ropes up the track to the Cobbler.
Buachaille Etive Mor - North Buttress
Submitted by Milesy on Wed, 08/11/2010 - 00:33Finally managed to get up the north buttress and had a great time. We seeked out the chimney difficulties rather than avoid them as the scramble book advises. Done some proper belays, running belays and direct belays. Threading slings round massive chockstones, spikes and boulders. Lots of great hex placements. Moving together and getting used to changing the length of rope between us quickly and efficiently. All in all much more fun than just scrambling.

Reiff and Stac Pollaidh
Submitted by JulesH on Tue, 07/20/2010 - 23:42Three club members - Richard, Simo and me Jules headed up to the far north western area of Coigach for a couple of days of climbing, walking and jumping off rocks into the sea.
We drove up Friday lunchtime and camped at Altandhu near to a very nice pub. The weather was wet and windy so we took refuge in a partly completed utility building.

8hrs rtn drive for one 15 mtr climb!

The Rule of Threes
Submitted by Former el Presidente on Wed, 05/26/2010 - 17:22There was a certain inevitability about it happening. Hopefully, this chaper is closed now and I can go on for another twenty years without being in close proximity to pain.

Misty Mountain top - Torridon
Submitted by Petronela on Sun, 05/09/2010 - 01:39well, I have found Torridon to be an extraordinary/fantastic/marvellous/incredible/smashing place. Lucky for you I can't find the words and I should stop with the nonsense I write in the trip reports:p, yes, yes I know.

Sundays Fun and Games (alt)
Submitted by IainGilbert on Sun, 04/25/2010 - 23:17Twas eight in the morn and driech as ever
Promise of verglas and powder, not sun!
Spurning the north face for untrodden heather
White crests soaring skyward, mists dispersing
crunch of crisp neve, scrape of crampon on rock
oh! such fun!
People! Walkers, Ramblers, en masse
The traditional arête tip-toed along
Knife edge but level and no sudden impasse
Crowds thronging the summit spires
Indicator, Condor, Point five all climbed
A celebration of life!
Descending now into spring like terrain
Last of the snows sliding under the boots

In case I would get lazy, and back-off..I've played same trick..bought tickets in advance.
..I was like a happy vegetable, emmersed in dreams and comfy ..when my friend dropped by.
